Rota Offroad Grids??

postby slyskiller » 11/06/13 @ 20:42

Do the Rota Offroad Grids 16x8 +10 clear 1.6 brakes? I'm thinking about getting a set for my NA. Would 205/40/16 fit?

Here are pictures of my current setup:
15x7 +15 with 205/50/15

I've never heard of 15"s not clearing non-sports brakes before.

The way the Offroad Grids were designed the spokes hit the caliper apparently.

Just got confirmation that they do clear the 1.6 brakes. They do NOT clear the 1.8 brakes or bigger.

The wheels you have currently look way better then THE MOST PLAYED OUT WHEEL OF ALL TIME. Aside from the XXR 527's. Seriously... Every damn miata ever always has either grids or 527s on it... Do something different for once. 6uls/rpf1s aren't even that played out.

I'm not all about the replica wheel scene, but I did like the way rota grids look. I'm thinking about going with something just as old and rare as my wheels.

I asked because I really like the look of what you have meow, definitely better than Rotas or XXRs.

Oh sure... you fools all get moist over those R15s, but nobody wanted to pay a measly $200 for my R9s.

Haters gonna hate.

Anyway, how does one refinish a wheel? If I'm keeping these I want them looking prettier. :tits:

I think the R9s looks good, don't you have to run adapters with them?

Yeah, my particular set is 5x114, which is interesting because i, nor anybody else seems to have seen a set that wasn't 5x120.

But somehow that means that people use it to lowball. For my personal uses, they aren't wide enough to use for anything but snow wheels for Swank Force One.

Dont do Rota's man.. there such shite wheels. Iv never ever in my life.. seen a rota that looks good in real life. They all look like they have been colored in by a toddler with an air gun and cheap matt paint.

This.

I always get dudes that are like, "well I don't care about fake or not I just like that it looks good."

But that's just it, they never look good because I've seen the legit version that looks 10x better.

Gonna keep my wheels for meow. I'll get rid of them if I find a better looking wheel that will go with a vintage roadster theme.
