Part availability is nowhere near what the miata is. It is not a very reliable car and rust prone.

I had to talk myself out of one. They look like cool fun cars. If I want a roadster headache I would go whole hog and get something British.

Gubment loans are best IIRC. Fuck all those companies that sell off your debt and then you "miss" your automatic payment and get charged out the ass.

Are front strut bars on miatas worth a shit? I tend to think not, sway bar would really make a difference.

Thanks Andy, that's what I was afraid of. I guess I'll get a 1.6 miata and try that out. Of course, that'll be in a few years.

No, Miatas don't have struts. A bar like that won't do much but look fancy on a double wishbone.

Are you still on stock suspension?

my understanding is that the front strut bars that also attach close to the firewall do something.

I don't completely agree, A local friend has a carbing 3 pt, and we removed it since going to stock coilovers didn't allow it to go back in. The car definitely had more cowl shake at highway speeds without it. But yes, I don't believe it'll effect performance in any measurable way.

Cowl shake and NVH is the only reason I want one.

I had one of those fancy rare FlyinMiata ones for the jrsc. Sans blower naturally, thats just not my style.

They look neat, reason enough to stick it in your bay.

I've got 1.125" hollow. Be careful with big FSB and sticky tires, the sway bar mounts are the next weak point, as well as endlink tabs on control arms.

You'll really have to race hard as fuck to start breaking those mounts (except maybe on an NB, it seems there are more threads about that). It can be done, but I certainly won't ever be able to do it.
