You drive a twenty year old car and...

http://www.amazon.com/Mazda-Miata-MX-5-Clutch-FE51-16-214/dp/images/B0091U4TM0

It looks like it's held in place by the two lips on the boot gripping the edge of the hole for the clutch fork in the bell housing. I would say if you can't just reposition it effectively it's time for a new one as the two lips on the boot are probably torn.

Any info on how to bypass the stock immobilizer? I've got an NB (all years have the immo here) for cheap, but it won't come with the key as it's lost... Is there any way other than getting new ecu, immo unit and key?

Yes, I believe flyin miata found a way but refused to post it because they didn't want to teach thieves. They remarked it was ridiculously easy.

You can't just get a new key (they are around $35 I think?) and have mazda cut you a new one using the VIN? I lost the key to my MR2 and toyota was able to cut me a new one on the spot, just had to prove the car was mine with a drivers license and insurance card.

edit: just called my local mazda dealer and they said that they could program a new key without the old key, said it would be $55 for programming not including the key and cost to cut the key.
I said it is an older model from 2001 and they said it would still work. I talked to some lady in the service department.

Just curious but anyone got suggestions for downpipes matting up to a gt2871..I've just looked at fm "upper downpipe" and lower downpipe section, I would like an all in 1 or is custom easier to get that just more expensive?

Custom causes less headaches. You can get the clearances you like especially if its do it yourself boost list.

Why do people use those tissue paper toilet seat covers in public restrooms?
Is there some terrible ass disease that tissue paper prevents?

Used any of the armour-all/mothers/other name brand NON-PETROLEUM based cleaners and tire shine. It will help prolong the life of the tire and keep it clean. Petroleum based tire shine sprays/spreads will soak into the rubber of the tire and eventually dry it to the point it cracks and splits.

not pics, but couple guys here shot a video of them doing stupid stuff in their miatas around the city... the fuckhead who shot it sold it to a local TV news for like $1500 and they started a hunt for them, describing them as road pirates and so on... Since they didn't hide their license plates, police got track of them, fined them and both had lost their driving licenses

Okay, so I have this wrecked MSM. Insurance will have it fixed eventually, but until then I'm driving it. Mechanically, the car is 100%. But the tire has a small rub turning left in a specific section. Not a big deal at all. Think I'm good to still drive the piss out of this thing and backroad it?

No. The insurance company may not fix other items if you damage the car any further, or have an 'incident' occur before getting it repaired for the original claim.

Red NA needs a drivers side rear brake caliper.

Shame that the police can use videos like this to hold drivers responsible for their actions. Claiming "someone else could have been driving" is used all the time here in the states.... but, they did smile for the camera more than once....

This would be a year or two in the future... buuut... I've been wanting another roadster. I thought it would be a miata, but meow I'm considering other options. One that seems the most appealing to me is a Fiat 124 spider because it's cheaper than the miatas in my area and it looks better inside and out. On top of that, they're cool old cars and I've been wanting something a bit older anyway. I want to end up with something like this(http://bringatrailer.com/2007/06/10/1982-fiat-2000-spider-with-abarth-modifications/)... But with Abarth flares and 15x8s (not even sure if 15s will look okay) with the widest tires I can fit.

So... My question is... Should I continue to lust over this little roadster and build them in my imagination, or is it going to be a regretful decision (due to unreliability and other things) when I finally can get one? I don't know much about these cars but I really want one haha
