Products suggestions

postby GeorgeG5 » 10/23/13 @ 14:12

Is there anything you would like to see made? Since we're based in Europe and most users here are from US of A, it should be small/light. I'll be making fender braces and such, but I couldn't give you a competitive price

Anything for NB/NC people. I'm tired of seeing all the cool shit being only available for NA owners. Interior stuff. NA people get all the cool interior stuff.

I have the gauge rings (both trim that go under the existing cover and independent with lenses), hvac rings, vent rings, needle caps, vent knobs... I'd like to make a shorty console for the NB, but I have to get me a spare console first

i don't need this, but what about the cigarette lighter covers like what awd makes.
or maybe a cigarette lighter blanking solution.

could you make something similar to the sazaire factory interior dress-up kit? ignition cover? odometer reset knob thing...

I'll look into the lighter stuff...

the dress-up kit should be easy, but I'll have to make sure it won't have the same issues like Sazaire.

and the odo reset knob is already available in the interior set

I know there's a need for gauge hole center console replacements. The trackdog one is shit and the other one DDMworks or w.e. !njoy went out of business and from what I understand their products were few and far between quality wise.

I have an injoy plate and it works great, but I with I could angle my gauges toward the driver. I know the trackdog one does but again, it's kind of shitty quality wise.

I had an idea to make one similar to the !njoy but modular. Ok so the NB center console has a outter trim piece that pops off. The !njoy panel sits under that to hold the faceplate in place. This is good. But take that idea and combine it with leaving that plate piece empty with mounting slots in it. Then just make a bunch of different secondary plates that bolt into the base. These plates can hold 3 gauges, 2 gauges, 6 gauges, angled gauge holes, radio, blanking plates etc. Make all sorts of different combinations and leave it up to your customer to decide.

Does that make any sense?

Here are my current gauges using the !njoy setup. I want this, but angled gauges and fully modular. Meaning I can mix and match all sorts of different combinations.

image

1. The backing plate that sits behind the bezel of the console.
2. Plate that bolts onto the backing plate. This can hold gauges, angled gauges, radios, different combinations of gauges, something else? Cigarette lighter? Push button start? Tv screen?
3. Universal slot for radio, single din or double din. Or, just the option to blank it all out or fill with extra gauges

I also think different center console's for NB's would be grand. NA's get those dope ass ones that move the cup holders to the passenger side of the car or extra storage space or shorty consoles. What do NB owner's get? Fuckall.

yeah. the coolant res cap would be the only one that's "difficult"
in fact, i plan on replacing my overflow anyway, so it might not even be worth it.

I wasn't even thinking about the coolant reservoir... the brake master has a standard cap, but the clutch master have an overflow outlet in the cap (IIRC)... don't really know why

I have to buy the lady a new hdd for her laptop so I can get my back (have the inventor/CAD etc. there) and will get working.

Mazduh: I've been thinking about your suggestion... so basicaly you would like the same thing Sonny made, but without the "divider" between the top and bottom so you can put anything anywhere... either use a 1DIN radio and one blank/gauge holder/starting panel/whatever or use a 2DIN radio/more gauges/full blank/picture of your cat.

EDIT: forgot @Mazduh

Yea basically. injoy kinda did that but like you couldn't put a single din radio ontop if you wanted or if you wanted gauges and a storage space.

I guess my biggest thing would be angled slots. I have a hard time seeing my gauges facing straight and not at me. Especially needle type ones for different pressures like boost or oil etc.

well my gauge rings, vent rings etc. all stay in place without any adhesive, but I still recommend using at least a bit of a clear silicone or whatever suits you the best
