How to: Fender Rolling

postby Chrismx5 » 10/10/13 @ 18:36

Before I start, quite often people will get Fender Rolling and Fender Pulling mixed up.

Fender rolling is rolling/bending the lip of the guard up to a flat surface to allow lower offset or wider wheels without scrubbing.

Fender Pulling is for those of you that are swag enough to rock 0 offset 15 x 8/9s and fit suitable tyres under the guard..

However, if you have that many swags you will probably be stretching tyres.. :D

To get the jist of fender rolling, I will do a written example, I will use generic images where possible.

There are a few methods people use to roll fenders. One of the more common/preferred methods is an Eastwood Fender Roller.

Like this:

I believe you can snag these off of Ebay quite cheap!

meow, an Eastwood fender roller works by attaching to your vehicles hub, then rolling the top red roller across your guards lip.

Basic steps include.

Jacking the car up.
Axle stands for safety
Removal of wheel.
Attach the eastwood fender roller to your hub
meow get out your Heat Gun
Heat your paint so it is fairly warm to the touch. DO NOT overheat
Once your paint is warm to the touch, you can start slowly rolling.
Move the top roller up against the lip of your guard, slowly rock the roller back and forth
You should start to notice your guards lip bending up wards.

Continue until satisfied.

More ghetto ways will be explained shortly!

+1 for eastwood fender roller. That's what I own & use.
I'll poop in your butt hole and then you will poop it back into my butt and we will keep doing it back and forth with the same poop. Forever.

Got it. You have to pull the browser URL, the Youtube "share" URL doesn't work, either.
