Looking to buy a sub..

postby Teejay187 » 11/24/13 @ 19:09

Hi guys/gals,

I want more oomph of my sound system and I am looking for a sub to use in the Miata. Any tips on where to get a neat sub and or box for my trunk?

I also wonder this.. I would love a tube sub for under my seat... Where are you trying to put it, in the cabin or trunk?

I'm guessing you don't have a factory bose system?

It looks like I wont buy a sub after all. After replacing my main unit with a new one, I was to learn that my audio system was Bose, and it suddenly woke to life. These nifty 8" in the doors play really great!

This is rather ingenious, turn the parcel shelf into a sub box

Still begs the question, why put a sub in a 2 seat sports car?

Have you tried more powerful door woofers. I'm pretty satisfied with the bass coming out of my clearwaters.

btw, I'm pretty sure this is the actual speaker that came with my clearwater kit.

http://www.parts-express.com/grs-8pr-8- ... r--292-428

and make sure you use a baffle in the doors, like this. You'll need to poke a hole in it to run the wires, make sure that hole and wire comes out of the baffle horizontally, because water gets introduced inside the doors from above and under the doors.
