I don't really know how to put it, but pretty much all there products suck. I use their products at work ( I don't have a choice, the dealership pays for it) and they are supposed to be "extremely" great products, plus they are expensive... For less money, you can purchase much more products from Ardex and you have a wider selection of product.
usually I'm the type of guy that would just deal with it especially because its free (dealership buys it) but I use my personal ardex products from home and take them to work simply because they work better.

Can't you bring this up with mgmt? Of course you should prepare a polite argument of why switching to XYZ supplier would say increase productivity, save money, etc etc. Hell if all goes well, you might even get something out of it.

The owner of the dealership fronted start up money for this company in return for cheaper prices (still the same price as ardex)

Hmm, that's complicated then. I know that chemical guys is willing to supply you with their products and put your company name and info on the labels without any mention of themselves. Would it be possible to convince this company to workout a similar deal with ardex?

I don't know then, maybe talk to a cpa about writing off the products your paying for out of pocket?
