Meanwhile, the Pens edge closer and closer to a Wild Card spot. They can do it!

so bry...
let's talk about kunitz shot on the empty net on the delayed penalty...
let's talk about how that may not be a written rule, but certainly unsportsman like...
let's talk about how giroux and voracek sat in the box and kunitz got NOTHING...
what the fuck is that shit?
also, your team is unraveling. lost 4-1 to the flyers and in a wild card spot! what's going on?

Pens have been unraveling since Jan 1. We're just seeing meow that it might actually land them out of the playoffs. I've given up on this season. Hope they blow it up and start over at this point.

Oh yeah, and thanks to Fleury playing like hot garbage (along with the other two goalies on my squad), I lost my first fantasy hockey championship. 2nd place for a beginner isn't bad, though.

i've never done fantasy. i really should next season. that seems like fun.
i don't think 2nd is bad at all, but i can understand the frustration.
i don't think it's safe to write off the pens just yet. i said on the rangers forum today that i really wouldn't want to play them in the first round. cause if they make it, they might come out strong thinking they have something to prove to themselves.
do i think they're a cup contender? no.
but i also have a tough time saying the rangers are any more of a cup contender. i think the rangers can easily be beat by washington, boston, NYI, tampa, montreal...
so take anything i say with a grain of salt. lol

Pens are the ONLY team in the NHL this season that has not won a game they were losing coming into the 3rd. Seriously...that indicates a team with serious problems.

Yeah. I was reading an article on Yahoo that basically makes the point that, outside of Crosby and Malkin, the rest of the Pens forward core has been playing (literally) as badly as the freaking Sabres.

This year has been crap.

i can't really put "fault" at this point cause the rangers's salaries read like a lopsided upside down cake, but you have a shit ton of money invested in like 4-5 guys.
that sucks.

all 30 teams play today. still a few spots open in the east. i think if you lose and boston and ottawa win, you're out.

That is correct. Pens needed 2 pts out of these two games, and they got 0 last night. If we win tonight, we're still in. Just as well, though...Letang is officially out for the rest of the season with a concussion...

yeah, i find the parity between the two series' pretty cool.
the only difference is that the ducks have home ice and are up 3-2 going into chicago.
if chicago wins tonight, i think going into anaheim for game 7 would be tough, but they're the blackhawks.

i'd much rather see chicago in the SCF than anaheim.

Yeah...Perry's a rat. He just happens to score goals.

I'll be honest: I seriously don't see how the Hawks win two in a row, even though I want them to.

Freaking Rangers don't know how to just lay down and die

i know hank's stats in game 7's, but i still don't want to use that as confidence.
game 7 will be tough no matter what. just gotta come out strong and stay out of the box.

it's phunny. this is the second year i've filled out a bracket. both years i've been pretty fucking far off. i had NYR playing STL in the final.
but even before the playoffs started, i was thinking the rangers might get the match up they might have won last year - CHI/NYR.

so we'll see!
