wounded warriors
http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/

To foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history.
To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members.
To help injured service members aid and assist each other.
To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

aspca
http://www.aspca.org/

Our mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh, is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” While there are SPCAs and humane societies all over the country, the ASPCA is not directly affiliated with them. However, the ASPCA works nationally to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws and share resources with many shelters across the country.

american lung association
http://www.lung.org/

The American Lung Association is the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through Education, Advocacy and Research. With the generous support of the public, we are "Fighting for Air." When you join the American Lung Association in the fight for healthy lungs and healthy air, you help save lives today and keep America healthy tomorrow.

toys for tots
http://www.toysfortots.org/

MISSION:
The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

GOAL:
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

reach out worldwide
https://www.roww.org/

Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW) - consisting of skilled volunteers - is a non-profit registered 501(c)3 organization. While part of a relief team responding to the massive earthquakes that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010; Actor/Producer Paul Walker saw a gap between the availability of skilled resources and the requirement for such personnel in post-disaster situations. Following the trip he contacted a group of his friends to assist him in forming ROWW with the purpose of filling this unmet need.

ROWW is a network of committed professionals with first responder skill-set (including project management, logistics, heavy equipment operation, EMT, paramedic, firefighting, and healthcare, etc). The volunteers provide their expertise when disasters strike and augment local resources with the goal of accelerating relief efforts on a worldwide basis. ROWW has developed Standard Operating Procedures that facilitate arriving quickly, clearing access, providing basic necessities and medical assistance to ease the survivors' pain and bringing hope in the bleakest of circumstances.

ROWW operates on the philosophy that by making a difference in just one person's life, the world has been changed for the better.

i couldn't find much about their "mission" or anything...

the toby project
http://tobyproject.org/

The Toby Project is a nonprofit organization working to end the killing of thousands of adoptable dogs and cats each year in New York City's animal shelters through a targeted, free and low-cost spay/neuter initiative.

We are the only organization in NYC whose sole mission is to reduce growth of shelter populations by preventing the births of unwanted dogs and cats. We will make NYC a true "no-kill" community by directing spay and neuter at the very animals who would otherwise perpetuate a vicious cycle of unwanted birth and unnecessary death.

hey phillllly how about this? this is my best friend's dad who has lymphoma and we are trying to gather funds to rebuild his Lotus Elan

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/fund-a-family-s-dream

Six years ago, I first became involved in the car enthusiast community not even knowing how to change my own oil. I never thought I would meet some of my best friends through the shared passion of cars. I first met Justin and his father when I reached out to a local car forum to help me fix something on my own car that I had botched in my novice hands. Justin offered to help and his father, Rob, lent us his tools and his knowledge. Since that day, I have spent many days and nights in their garage and Rob was always willing to share his knowledge while we worked on our various projects.

Rob's own project, a 1965 Lotus Elan, has always sat proudly in the garage as we worked - but life and its priorities have prevented it's completion. He is meow battling advanced stage lymphoma which has unfortunately been refractory to initial chemotherapy. His friends and family would like to bring the Elan out from its dust covers and bring it back to the race track. Working on the Elan would provide an opportunity for the family and friends to come together and support each other through this difficult time and would fulfill one of Rob's own dreams.
