in other news, this happened. Not the actual item, but I've just got it on ebay with the miata fiting kit for less than is the fitting kit itself

yes, I have LHD. Unfortunately, this is the older kit so the intake elbow won't fit LHD car and that's one of the reasons I'm trying to make a coldside mount...

the revised version (the one you can buy meow) fits our cars just fine

found out the source of the whining sound was the waterpump... took it apart and yay, the bearing failed and the shaft was hiting the 1 cylinder, hence the louder noises when hot.

changed the pump, went for a drive, all is good. Apart from a new noise coming from the rear :suicide:

Water pumps are fun. Hopefully it didnt mess anything up on the cylinder.

on my old 91, I had just bought a radiator and stuck that in and all that jazz. Then that drive my pump seized. Then while I was fixing that, all the little tiny nipples for the little bastard hoses all broke. So I had to get creative with some brass fittings and the tap and dye. Then when all that jimmy jam was back together and running just about all of my hoses blew up and started leaking. It was an adventure for sure.

Ha, and holy shit, when I did the waterpump on my 99, I went to remove the top radiator hose and the whole fucking top of the radiator came with it. Laughed my fucking ass off.

the cylinder seems fine, there's just a small circle shaped scratch.

yeah, when it rains it pours... my hoses are fine so far, but judging from the rear end noise, there's something wrong with brakes, I noticed some oil on the pan and bottom of the trans so I'm guessing the rear crank seal gave way and lights started to randomly switch on and off on caturday... This said, I've the crank seal ready and ordered HB4 connectors or whatever is it called since the PO just spliced the harness for the facelift lights

Re: NB6&KE70&whatever

question. There's a noise comming form the transmission (probably). I'm in neutral and it sounds like a failing bearing, but when I press the clutch, it goes away. The neutral rules out anything on driveshaft and further back, throwout bearing is new and would be louder with the clutch pedal pressed...

Tell me it's not the bearing on the shaft between bellhousing and the transmission
