Tap into the radio power or cigarette outlet wire?

What exactly is your question?

I hate wires and electricity and positive negative crap. I can't even install a radio. This is a major weakness of mine so I need the most help doing electrical work for this mod. Easiest cleanest route also what should I mount it too since it's not going in a nb fogs location. It's going in the same location as the fd.

Get some "L" shaped brackets big enough to mount to desired location from wherever the hell you can mount it.

Get 16-ish gauge wire and run to vampire tap-in to cigarette outlet. DONE.

or (a preferred route)

find someone local to you that is good with electronics shit and give them beer to walk you through the install. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, suck his cock, drink beer, #yolo, then you will have fog lights... right?

Option 2 dude. Trust me.

edit: why the fuck don't people put their location in their profile!?!

If you want to do zero splicing into wires, you could also do something like this:
image

locate your radio or cigarette fuse in the fuse box, pop this in there (they make them for the smaller and bigger sized fuses, make sure to get the right one), add another fuse to it so it won't blow, wire the positive to it and the ground under any bolt in the engine bay. I bought one and used it for my aux-power wire for a year when I had a subwoofer in my old car and for a radar detector on my motorcycle, held up strong and had no issues whatsoever

EDIT: if you are going to splice into wires, you can most likely find the wire diagram here ( I don't know the year of your car)

Wow, that's smart. I've never seen anything like that!

I'll give you a warning on that though. I've seen similar contraptions cause the spade terminals on the original socket to overheat and melt the plastic around them. Not a big problem when it's a $1 fuse box... But one quite big when it's a > $1000 body computer!

Yeah I love wiring stuff, but hate the thought of screwing up and burning/melting something.
Personally I never had a problem with it when using it for the amplifier and the radar detector, and I can't imagine fog lights being any different, but it is the easy way out if you don't want to splice into any wires at all. The only problem with this, and splicing into a wire, is getting it through the firewall (I don't know how bad it is on a miata, but on a 1995 f150 and 2012 its somewhat of a pain in the ass, but you just have to cut a small hole in a rubber grommet and use a metal coat hanger to push it through into the open

I've got 3 of those add a fuse things right meow, one on wbo2, one on boost gauge, and one on hard wire radar detector. No problems. The one time I overloaded a fuse was when I added in a WOLO bad boy horn. Replaced it with one 5A stronger and been good.

Man your car is ridiculous, I'm not usually a big fan of the NB but I'm loving yours. I'm surprised I haven't seen it around considering I'm only about 30 minutes north of you. Wiring them up as running lights shouldn't be that hard if you can find a switchable power source under the hood to run to a relay. SHOULD be pretty straight forward, but never count out unforeseen variables I guess
