The New Beginning...

postby Boomer Smurfing » 07/28/14 @ 17:44

Hey guys,
It's been quite some time since i've on this phorum. I've gone through quite some changes in my life in these past couple months. I graduated highschool last month. I quit my old job and got a full time job in the automotive industry. I've been super busy with all that happening and havent gotten around to keep you all updated. Well, i ended up getting wheels and throwing them on my car. i got rid of my r package wing for a r package rear bumper lip and some money on top. This is what it looked like a few months ago:
image
Sleepy Eyes :kitty:
image

Yay another slammed kid. 2 months went by of driving it like that and i realized that i wanted more out of my car. I got tired of scraping everywhere and putting my car through hell. So i lifted it up and plan on lifting it more. I plan on heading the autox route and enjoying my miata like it should. I got a mishimoto radiator. i also got jackson racing adjustable sway bars for the front and rear (They are sold as a pair). I also bought Racing beat adjustable sway bar end links.
image

I am in the process right meow of picking up a set of megan ez streets from a local guy. I also have ordered a hard dog roll bar that is being shipped to me soon from the factory. Yesterday i replaced my miatas soft top as well.
image
The ride height is about an inch and a quarter higher meow than it was in the first pic and i plan on lifiting it about a half inch or a bit more higher when i get the megans.

Last week i rebuilt my shifter with a kit and it shifts like butter meow. I even got some headrest speakers in my seats since my original speakers from 93 were shot and shredded. Great upgrade. I picked up a NRG quick relase version 2.5 and i was running a Grant Racing wheel that was made in back in the 70s in the original box. I had to make a custom plate to mount it to the release but it was worth it. Then a buddy of mine hooked me up a NRG steering wheel that i really like and isn't as much of a hassle as the Grant was.
image

On the performance note. A buddy of mine and I changed my timing belt and water pump. I found out that whoever installed the timing belt before did it wrong and the timing was off about 2 teeth. That explained why it was hesitant at low rpms when i first got it. I did a fuel philter as well. I also advanced my timing and am meow running premium gas. Thats about it for meow for my build. Its gone through a lot of changes since i got it and i am super happy with it. Ill be continuing to build it to autox it and enjoy it and drive it like it should be driven. meow that im settled in more ill be on here active again.

moar updates it is. So i ended up getting TSI's. I got them color matched as well. I painted my tow hook black. I also ordered a R-Package lip which i plan on getting a splitter for and getting rid of my GV lip.
image

I also got some Hankook Ventus RS3 V2's for my new wheels. I ended up going with advanti storm s1s in black. 15x9 on a 225/45. @mx5militia helped me out and let me test fit his wheels and i loved them. I went ahead and did a charcoal canister delete as well and cleaned up my engine bay a bit. Right meow i'm contemplating doing an A/C delete, but am still undecided. moar updates will be up soon with the new lip and wheels!

Quick Update. Ended up doing some more work to the car. Pulled the head about a year and a half ago to do a headgasket job and threw ARP head studs in as well. Found out that the inside of the motor is very clean and hardly worn. I threw new seals in motor as well all around. Got a Racing Beat midpipe and muffler with a magnaflow cat and raceland header. Sounded pretty good. I came across a set of Volk TE37s that i bought and refinished and sold them to a friend on the forum here. Then i started a collection of turbo parts. I ended up going with a pieced together kit that i installed and finished over this past summer. I went with:

-Garret 2560r
-FM manifold, 1.8 downpipe, turbout outlet pipe
-CX Racing FMIC
-Deatschwerks 600cc Injectors
-Turbosmart manual boost controller
-Turbosmart Plumb back full recirc BOV
-GM IAT sensor (DIY autotune sells the kit to make the car go from MAF to speed density)
-MSPNPV2
-FM happy meal clutch kit level 2 w/ 10.5lb flywheel
-Custom 2.5 inch to 3 inch exhaust
-Torsen 4.1 LSD
-Poly Diff bushings
-Innovate Wideband

I also ended up getting 15x9 jongbloeds and threw 225/45/15 BFG Rival S tires on them. I recently picked up a set of Jass Low Pro Headlights that i installed as well. It has been running really strong for about 6 months meow on this set up. It went down to OCMD with me and back with no problems. It got tuned locally at Fabspeed by Steve and made 240rwhp at 10.5psi. I will update with pics and more info soon.

I did upgrade the brakes. New some stuff would slip my mind. Ended up going with 1.8 brakes with stainless braided lines and stop tech pads with centric rotors and some nice high temp brake fluid! still working on pics. I've been really busy recently!
