postby Z-Train » 11/07/13 @ 11:29

Thinking about plasti dipping my winter wheels blaze blue.

My car is black.

Good idea, or childish ricer bullshit?

My wife may divorce me if I do it. She will HATE it.

Interesting about the break dust screwing them up. I've never heard of that.

No, she did not pay for the car. I've had it several years meow and she has only ridden in it twice. Never driven it. She was pissed off when I bought it, thinks it's not a proper "family" car or some such shit. I disagree 100%. Perfect family car.

She says I didn't discuss it with her before I bought it. I told her I was thinking about buying it, and she said "whatever". That is the same as saying "go ahead!" Right?

I also agree to paint each wheel a different color. Blue, red, yellow, then black or silver. Primary colors plus one matching the car.

Hahaha!

Alright, I'll do it. Just gotta find the time. Installed new fluorescent lights in my garage today, so I'm currently riding a high off of that. The old ones wouldn't fire up if there was any moisture in the air or if the temp was below 45 degrees.

New light fixtures are 1/5 the size, but put out 1000x more light. Why did it take me so long to replace them? Retarded.

My winter wheels are 16" RX8 wheels. I actually really like the look of them. We'll see how they look in blue.

Dont do it! Buy paint, montana sells beter colors then plasti dip. Let me explain y u should do paint.. Ur gonna love it and wish it was pemanite. So dont donthe job twice. Do it once with paint. Dips hard to clean and doesnt come rite off like everyone is saying takes a lot of time and rubbing and peeling.

Dip them! And get some orange cleaner in the spray bottle from walmart, you will thank me later.

It's the ONLY thing that gets the exhaust soot off my white dipped Miata's quarters and bumper. And trunk. And occasionally some of the door. And diffuser. lol.

Did mine in Vintage Gold dip a while back. I think it's a cool way to try out different color schemes.

Well they are blue.

I don't think it turned out really great. Not sure why. I did a ton of light coats (that's what I saw everybody recommending everywhere). Seems kind of rough and speckly. We'll see what they look like once I put them on.

Tried to make sure the cans were warm because I've heard if they are cool it gets thick.

It was cool in the garage. Maybe the wheels themselves were cold and that made it not work as well...
