Loose Frankenstein Bolt

postby mx5militia » 11/21/13 @ 00:15

I've been having some rattling from my hardtop recently. Took it off and noticed one of my frankenstein bolts spins freely. I did some quick researching and apparently there's a 15mm nut that tightens it down from inside the trunk? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks boyfriends!

I seem to remember NB and NA have different frankenstein bolts, the male/female are reversed if that makes sense.

Does it just spin or is there play in it too?

I seem to remember mine rattling and a little bit of silicone hose around the adjustable horseshoe thing and tightening everything back down seemed to fix the rattle.

no clue...but it shouldn't be difficult to pop the trunk open and look inside.
otherwise, i wonder if you could take the plates off and see if there's anything under there you can tighten.
