theAngryMarmots Work thread - Classic Car Content Inside.

postby theAngryMarmot » 04/08/15 @ 00:24

So guys, I used to work in a really high-end restoration shop. Economy tanked, and after a few jobs and a few years I was approached by another local classic car/hot-rod shop.

While this shop doesn't really focus on frame-off restorations - we still get some pretty cool rides coming in. We also have a few ongoing hot-rod projects that are pretty unique.

I figured I will post some pics every once in a while of stuff I am working on, or stuff that is in the shop that is kind-o-kool.

I will sprinkle in some past projects as well just to add some flava.

'65 Mustang - Nothing too special - but would be a perfect (and is) daily driver. Was in for an A/C service. Straight-six w/ power steering and A/C.

image20150406_101345 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

Pretty sick Hot-Rod. A bit different as it is a '31 Plymouth, and not the typical Ford. Powered by a LT1 TPI engine out of a Caprice. Engine is coming out - it is tired. New engine will be going in.

image2015-04-07_08-11-22 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

Lincoln Continental restomod. Big wheels, matte black, on air. Huge stereo. Engine has been swapped to a much better 460. Disc brake conversion.

image2015-04-07_08-11-04 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

The Marmot tending to a '48.

image2015-04-07_08-10-15 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

Another '65 Mustang. This one is a little six as well. A/C car. It is cool though as it is 4 speed swapped car. Was in for a not running issue. MarmoDiag concluded a faulty condenser in the Distributor. Off it went to add some more miles as the owner's 3 day a week driver.

image2015-04-07_08-09-54 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

The forementioned Plymouth that is getting a new engine, and a slightly older Ford that needs a new headgasket. The flathead 4 is being a bit temperamental meow that the temps are climbing.

image2015-04-07_08-09-35 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

Really nice T-Bird.

image2015-04-07_08-09-07 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

Beautiful Flathead V8 fresh from the rebuilder - going into a '40 Ford 'Vert. Running Edelbrock heads and a magneto.

image2015-04-07_08-08-38 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

This will be making it's way into my bay sometime soon to finish the electronics/wiring. 1940 Dodge with a 2004 Viper powertrain and six speed trans. Will be awesome when done.

image2015-04-07_08-07-50 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

Continental 'Vert and a 49 Chevy.

image2015-04-07_08-07-26 by theAngryMarmot, on Flickr

Sometimes you wonder what people are thinking. This mess was jammed into the ignition connector on a Lincoln. All this mess to avoid buying a $20 dollar ignition switch. Bubba-Tech at it's best.

I worked on this mustang, and spend a few days chasing it down in a van during my tenure as a mechanic on the Copperstate 1000 vintage road rally. 7 years later it shows up at the new shop to be prepped for the event this year. Some cars seem to phollow me.

I love Novas. I also love your shop.

Living in the rust belt means we don't get to see these awesome survivor cars, they are either long gone or frame offs.
